The HSE grants vary based on your place of residence.In order to claim an allowance for a wig due to medical hair loss, you will need the following:
1. A valid medical card
number and expiration date.2. A letter from your consultant or doctor, written on headed paper and signed by the medical professional, stating that you are experiencing hair loss for medical reasons and require a wig.
When you have these documents, bring them to your appointment with Anita, who will
then apply on your behalf to the correct HSE area to claim the allowance,
making the process as easy as possible for you.Discretionary Medical Cards are available to individuals who do not meet the means test criteria for a regular medical card. These cards are issued for the duration of cancer treatment only, to help with the additional financial burdens associated with cancer treatment. It is worthwhile to apply for this Discretionary Medical Card, as they are not widely advertised. You can contact the Irish Cancer

Exciting news!
A new PRSI hair grant scheme of up to €500 per year has been introduced,
and it's easy to apply for. Premium Wigs in Limerick is a registered PRSI agent,
and we can assist you in organizing all the necessary paperwork to ensure a
speedy completion of your application.As authorized agents, we will first verify if you have sufficient PRSI
contributions to qualify for the hair grant. Additionally, please note that if
you do not qualify under your own PPS number, you can still apply under the
dependents spouse scheme. We will then provide you with a form that needs to be
filled in and signed by your doctor. The qualifying hair conditions include
Alopecia, Hair Loss (Frontal Fibrosis), or undergoing chemotherapy. Once we
receive the completed doctor's certificate, you can schedule an appointment to
use your benefit towards a hairpiece or wig, with a maximum allowance of €500
